On August 17th, the very morning that “Break Your Curse” was released, two stars literally collided (link from NPR below).

Or at least that’s when signs of the collision arrived here.  It’s the first time this was observable from earth.  News is just now coming out about what this means for science, and the results are crazy.

Among the oddities are new theories about gravity, and the curvature of time itself.  Additionally, some scientists  estimate that crazy amounts of minerals were created during the event, including gold in the amount of 200 earth-masses worth (we immediately thought about how much new music we could create with even a chip off that block).

We’re hoping the event doesn’t result in any other surprise asteroids.  One should be enough.
